
IN THE BEGINNING
A short time after the millennium, an amazing product quietly appeared in the UK. Little did anyone realise that it would soon come to be adored by millions and worshipped the world over, and would transform our understanding of hair beauty. Of course, it was the ghd styling iron.
SPREADING THE GOOD NEWS
Word spread like a virus as girls gasped at the miracle of ghd styling irons. Stars of the stage, screen and CD praised them in interviews. And, as word spread, so did demand. Urban legend has it that women were banging on our warehouse doors, trying to bribe our staff - even breaking in – just to get their hands on a ghd styling iron. We already knew we had something special; now everyone else did, too!
THE ANGELIC HOSTS
Later, we would extend the range of irons and introduce our hair beauty products; climb into bed (as it were) with the worlds of fashion and celebs; and shake the foundations of the hairdressing world. We brought belief and a new religion for hair to a new generation of women: they are our urban angels - made (by ghd), not born. Later, we launched into Australia and South Africa, across Europe – and, of course, into the USA. We are now a global brand, all our countries crowning whole hosts of their own urban angels. And so continues the story of ghd.
